Man’s body found near Juanita Bay Park

UPDATE: 11:10 a.m. | The body of a man was found on the boardwalk between Juanita Bay Park and Juanita Beach Park this morning, according to Kirkland police.

It appears he died after shooting himself in the head, police said.

Joggers found the man’s body about 6 a.m. in the 11100 Block of 98th Avenue. The man appears to be in his 40s.

Around 11 p.m. yesterday, police responded to the area to look into reports that shots had been fired, but found nothing at that time, police said.

ORIGINAL POST: Kirkland police are investigating reports this morning of a man with a gun at Juanita Bay Park.

Details are scarce about the incident at this point, but there is a large police presence at the park at 2201 Market Street.
