A Barefoot Bandit movie? The Herald in Everett says the storied young thief who stole planes and boats and made a career of eluding authorities for two years until his arrest in July 2010, has signed a $1.3 million deal for a movie on his life as a fugitive and thief. The Herald reports that the money won’t go to the now 20-year-old bandit, Colton Harris Moore, but will be used to pay restitution to his victims. Colton-Moore pleaded guilty to a number of charges in a plea deal on a host of local, state and federal charges.

A 28-year-old man who stole a dump truck and went on a joy ride that pulled down power poles and left a number of customers in the dark in Colville late last month originally said he had downed 14 beers before getting behind the wheel. Actually, he later said, he had been drinking vodka. His blood alcohol level came in at 0.226, police said. The Spokesman Review has the story.
