A 56-year-old man was killed this morning when his motorcycle collided with a sports car in Kent’s Panther Lake neighborhood, according to police.
The collision happened at about 6:44 a.m. in the 12200 block of Southeast 223rd Drive. Police said the driver of a 1986 Nissan crossed the center line as he was entering a curve and collided with the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was ejected and died at the scene, police said.
The driver of the car, an 18-year-old Kent man, was not hurt. Police said both men lived just a few blocks from the crash scene.
“Information collected to this point suggests that the passenger car was being driven well in excess of the posted 25 mile per hour speed limit,” said Assistant Police Chief Pat Lowery.
