A man was arrested early this morning after a naked, blood-covered woman banged on the doors of neighbors’ homes following an apparent assault, Seattle police said.
Police were called to the 9700 block of Arrowsmith Avenue South around 2:15 a.m. after witnesses reported a woman was heard screaming inside a house. When officers arrived they found a naked woman, covered in blood, banging on the doors of other homes in the neighborhood, police said.
Seattle Fire Department medics treated the woman for a gash to her head before taking her to Harborview Medical Center.
A neighbor directed police to a home where the woman was believed to have been; several people were seen earlier driving away away from the home, police said.
Police went to the home and found one of the doors covered in blood. After getting no response, officers went inside the home and found blood on one of the walls, police said. The home was secured.
The homeowner returned a short time later and admitted the woman had been inside his house, police said. The homeowner, a man in his 40s, was taken into custody.
