Spill on I-405 makes commute, uh, poopier than usual
A pickup dumped almost its entire load of chicken manure on the southbound Interstate 405 near Kirkland a little before 7 p.m. today.
The smelly mess that had Twitter users commenting on the stench was concentrated in the middle lane between Northeast 70th Street and Northeast 85th Street, according to Washington State Department of Transportation spokeswoman Broch Bender.
Two sweepers that travel between 20 and 30 mph are en route to move the mess to the side of the road, but no lanes will be closed, said Bender.
