Woman arrested in Tuesday’s fatal crash in Kirkland

A 41-year-old woman has been arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide after a fatal collision Tuesday night in Kirkland, police said.

The suspect, who was injured in the collision in the 12000 block of Juanita Drive Northeast, was arrested after she was treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Police identified her as Kelly Hudson.

Hudson was driving south when she crossed the centerline just before 9 p.m. and collided with a northbound vehicle with four people inside, according to police. One person in the northbound vehicle was killed and three others were hospitalized. Two of the victims remained in critical condition Wednesday at Harborview, Kirkland police said.

Hudson was the sole occupant of the southbound vehicle, police said.

Moments before the collision, Kirkland police received a 911 call from a witness who was following Hudson’s vehicle, police said. The emergency dispatch center was still on the line with the caller when the collision occurred.
