Two men and a woman were arrested in connection with a series of armed robberies in Federal Way and Renton over the past week, according to police.
The suspects, who are from Seattle and Renton, held up two convenience stores in Federal Way on Wednesday and then a third location in Renton a short time later, Federal Way police said.
An investigation is ongoing because police believe the suspects may be tied to other robberies in the area, they said.
Police said the armed suspects robbed the Chevron gas station on South 356th Street in Federal Way of cigarettes and cash during a hold up at 1:24 a.m. About 20 minutes later, police said, the same individuals attempted to rob a 7-Eleven store on Military Road South.
The 7-Eleven clerk was “violently assaulted” and the suspect’s firearm was discharged after the clerk struggled with a suspect, police said. The suspects are also tied to a third location, in Renton, that same day, Federal Way police said.
Police said surveillance videos from the Federal Way stores were recovered, which helped to identify the suspects and their vehicle.
All three were taken into custody on Friday.
