Bicyclist struck and killed in Snohomish County

A bicyclist was killed early Saturday morning in Brier, Snohomish County, in a collision with a large pickup.

The cyclist was a 24-year-old Lynnwood-area resident, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.  The driver of the truck is a 43-year-old man from the Mountlake Terrace area.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that deputies were sent to the scene of the collision, at Barker and Atlas roads in unincorporated Snohomish County, at 10:26 a.m. They found the bicyclist dead at the scene.

“It is very early in the investigation but at this time it does not appear that alcohol was a factor in the collision,” the news release stated.
