Black Diamond man injured in paragliding mishap

CHELAN – A Black Diamond man was taken to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee Sunday afternoon after one side of his paraglider collapsed after take-off from Chelan Butte, according to The Wenatchee World.

Mark Davis, 58, went off the butte at about 3 p.m. when his equipment failed and he spiraled about 75 feet down, said Chelan County Sheriff’s Sgt. Rob Huddleston.

He said Davis’ friends brought him back to the take-off point, where and fire department and emergency medical crews got him to an ambulance.

Davis was complaining of lower back and pelvic pain, Huddleston said.
