Human remains found in Lake Washington

Seattle police pulled a body from Lake Washington this morning.

Officers were called to the 2300 block of Lake Washington Boulevard South, in the Mount Baker neighborhood, around 6:40 a.m. after a group of water skiers reported seeing what appeared to be a body about 100 yards off shore,

Harbor patrol officers brought the remains to shore and turned the body over to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office. The medical examiner will identify the remains and determine how the person died.

“It appears it had been in the lake for quite some time. It appears to be an adult female,” said police spokesman Mark Jamieson.

Police said that the woman appears to have been in her late teens or early 20s.
