A man crossing Alaskan Way on Seattle’s waterfront was critically injured late yesterday afternoon when he was struck by a car.

The man was crossing the street in the 1400 block about 5:30 p.m. when he was hit by a Ford Focus that was going north, according to Seattle police.

He suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

There were no signs that the driver of the car was impaired by drugs or alcohol, police said. The driver was subsequently released.
