The man shot by Kirkland police late Monday night has been released from the hospital and has been booked into the King County Jail for investigation of first-degree assault and robbery.
The 25-year-old was shot when he allegedly drove toward a Kirkland police officer in the parking lot of the Motel 6 in the 12000 block of 120th Place Northeast. Police were investigating a disturbance at the motel when they encountered the man.
The man continued driving before eventually crashing a few blocks away. He was taken to Seattle’s Haborbview Medical Center with a bullet wound to tthe shoulder, police said.
The officer who shot the suspect remains on paid administrative leave.
