Weather: Sunny today, with a high near 83. Over the weekend, expect lower temperatures and some clouds to roll in. There is a 50 percent chance of rain Sunday night and Monday, which could squash our chances (by a few days) of beating the city’s longest dry-spell record of 51 consecutive days in 1951. It was good while it lasted. The National Weather Service forecast.

Fatal shooting in SeaTac: Witnesses say they heard an argument coming from inside a Motel 6 room after a man was let into the room. Witnesses then heard a gunshot, and the man stumbled out of the room and collapsed. Two men and two women fled the room, covering their faces as they left, and drove away.
Olympia hazing: A hazing incident involving Capital High School students at a Western Washington University basketball camp in June prompted the dismissal of the high-school basketball coach last month for “lack of adequate supervision.” The school board will meet Monday to discuss the teacher’s coaching future. KING5 has the story.
Noisy fish? KING5 reports that the hum that has been keeping West Seattle residents up at night might be caused by a fish. The Midshipman fish, which has an unusual mating call, may be the culprit, magnified by a sub-woofer effect from nearby buildings and ship hulls. Who knew fish could be so loud?
That time of year again: The Puyallup Fair kicks off today with the annual cattle drive and the Western Rodeo Parade at 10 a.m. The 17-day fair has plenty for everyone — rodeo performances, concerts (any Willie Nelson fans out there?), fireworks, flowers and animals. See their website for details.
