Morning Memo/Saturday: Downtown shooting … University District Farmer’s Market accolades

Weather: Cooler today, with a thin cloud layer. Temperatures could rise as high as the 70s today, and will keep warming through week. You wouldn’t know that it’s fall, except by evening temperatures dropping into the low 50s and high 40s. The National Weather Service forecast.

Traffic: The map and cams.

Downtown shooting: Witnesses say that an argument inside the Noc Noc Club escalated outside the downtown club, ending with the suspect shooting a man in the abdomen early Saturday morning. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center, with no word on his status. The suspect is still at large.

University District Farmer’s Market
Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Located on University Way Northeast and Northeast 50th Street

The University District Farmer’s Market is breaking into some elite circles these days. U.S. News & World Report includes the market in its top 11 farmer’s markets in the U.S. (coming in at a respectable no. 6), The Boston Globe’s boston.com site boosts it into the no. 3 spot, and Forbes lists our local gem in its top 10 farmers markets in America.

Happy birthday, Pete Carroll: Rumor has it that today is Seahawks coach Pete Carroll’s birthday. Okay, maybe more than a rumor, since the @Seahawks twitter account blew his cover:
