Police release sketch of gunman in Seattle homicide

Sketch of the gunman who killed Yancy Noll. (Seattle police sketch)

The Seattle Police Department today released this sketch of the man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Yancy Noll. Police say the sketch is based on information from witnesses who saw the gunman flee after the Aug. 31 shooting.

Noll, 43, was in his car at 15th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 75th Street around 7:26 p.m. when a silver BMW Z4 convertible pulled up next to him, according to police. The BMW driver fired several shots at Noll, according to police.

Witnesses described the gunman as a well-dressed white or Asian male in his late 20s to 30s, with dark, slicked-back hair.Detectives have also narrowed BMW Z4 that the gunman was driving to a 2002-2008 model with a black interior.

Police earlier said the shooting may have resulted from some sort of traffic dispute. Detectives are now saying it’s unclear why the man opened fire on Noll.

Anyone with information on the shooting or the gunman is asked to call 911 or the SPD’s Homicide Tip Line at 206-233-5000. Anonymous tips are welcome.

Callers can also reach CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
