Shots fired in Central Area

Seattle police are trying to determine if a man who turned up with a gunshot wound at Harborview Medical Center late last night is connected to gunfire heard earlier in Seattle’s Central Area.

At about 11:15 p.m., police responded to a number of reports of gunshots in the 1800 block of East Howell Street where a large number of people had gathered. Officers began looking for shooting victims, but found none. They did find a car that had been shot up, though, police said.

Meanwhile, a man showed up at Harborview to be treated for a gunshot wound.

Neither the man, who wasn’t seriously injured, nor people who may have witnessed the gunfire, would say more than they had heard shots.

When the man who’d been shot was released by the hospital, police arrested him on several outstanding felony warrants. He was taken to the King County Jail.
