Specialized free bus service in downtown Seattle will run on First, Boren avenues

Solid Ground, which will operate Seattle’s free downtown shuttle starting Oct. 1, published its route map Wednesday.

There are two small buses, arriving every 30 minutes in a clockwise loop that starts at Harborview Medical Center and travels along Yesler Way, First Avenue to Battery Street, then down Second Avenue, left on Virginia Street to Boren Avenue, then across First Hill to Harborview. The first bus leaves Harborview at 7 a.m. and the last bus leaves at 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

This is a pilot project to compensate for King County eliminating the downtown free-ride area, as part of its biggest-ever service change Sept. 29.

Here is a link to the full map, and list of social-service agencies and other destinations along the route.
