Suspect in Tukwila homicide arrested in Seattle

Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting in Tukwila on Sept. 1.

Tukwila police said the suspect was seen fleeing after Orlando Soto was killed in the parking lot of the Knights Inn motel on Tukwila International Boulevard. Detectives determined the suspect, identified as Asuan Santos-Valdez, 33, of Burien, had gone to a nearby convenience store, where his image was captured on surveillance video.

State Department of Corrections (DOC) officers recognized Santos-Valdez, who was wanted on a  DOC warrant. DOC officers arrested Santos-Valdez on Tuesday in Seattle

Police say they will seek a charge of first-degree murder against Santos-Valdez. The motive for the slaying appears to be robbery, police said.
