PORT ANGELES — The Border Patrol has settled a complaint from an agent who said he was harassed after he called the Port Angeles station a “black hole” with little to do.
The whistleblower retaliation claim from Christian Sanchez was settled through mediation by the Office of Special Counsel. It said Wednesday the terms are confidential.
Sanchez appeared before the Sunlight Foundation Advisory Committee on Transparency in July of 2011 in Washington, D.C., and said the Port Angeles station is an overstaffed “black hole” with “no purpose, no mission.” Afterward he said he and his family were subjected to “ugly harassment” by federal officials.
