Des Moines resident shot by robbers

The Associated Press

A Des Moines man was wounded in a struggle with two home-invasion robbers.

KIRO-TV reports the robbers forced their way into the home about 11 p.m. Monday and demanded money.

The victim was pistol-whipped and shot. Police say he was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and is expected to survive. A woman in the house at the time was not hurt.

Police are looking for the two robbers who fled.
