Elderly man dies after dump truck hits him in Lower Queen Anne
An elderly man died after a dump truck hit him in Lower Queen Anne this afternoon, according to the Seattle Police Department.
A red 2008 Kenworth dump truck hit the 88-year-old man near the intersection of 2nd Avenue West and West Mercer Street, at about 2:46 p.m. according to the Seattle police. Medics took him to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries.
The truck’s 38-year-old driver was evaluated for signs of impairment due to alcohol or drugs, but police say no impairment was detected.
