Fight over cell phone leads to stabbing in Burien

King County sheriff’s investigators say that a 57-year-old man was stabbed in a Burien park yesterday after refusing to give his cell phone to a man he had been drinking with.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West said that deputies were called to Jacob Ambaum Park, 12621 Ambaum Blvd. S.W., around 5 p.m. for a report of the stabing. The victim told deputies that he had been drinking with a younger man when the younger man followed him into the restroom and demanded his cell phone.

The man said he was attacked when he refused.

Though stabbed repeatedly, the victim was able to walk to a nearby convenience store for help. The man was taken to Harborview Mediucal Center in Seattle, where he is in stable condition, West said.

No arrests have been made.
