King County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the discovery of the human remains of a man near Bastyr University in Kenmore.
Two Bastyr students contacted the sheriff’s office on Thursday to report finding bones, “that they thought possibly belonged to a human,” sheriff’s Sgt. Kathleen Larson said.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the remains were human, Larson said.
“What we’re doing right now is setting up our sifting stations and looking for more evidence. ID will be made through DNA,” Larson said on Friday. She added that it appears the remains have been there a while.
Bastyr, a school focused on natural health studies, is located inside a 51-acre wooded area on the shores of Lake Washington.
