Man dead in single-vehicle crash on I-5 in Shoreline

A 20-year-old Everett man died in a single-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 5 in Shoreline, according to the State Patrol.

The accident was under the North 185th Street overpass.

According to State Patrol Trooper Julie Judson, the driver was killed when his Chevrolet pickup truck drove off the highway about 5:25 p.m. and struck a pillar that holds up the overpass. The vehicle came to rest on its top.

The man was dead at the scene. A coroner’s report could determine what led him to drive off the road.

Two lanes of I-5 were closed for a couple hours, Judson said.
