Man shot during drunken fight in West Seattle

A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg during an argument with an acquaintance early Sunday in West Seattle.

The suspected shooter, a 26-year old man, was booked into the King County Jail.

The two men were both intoxicated, according to Seattle police. They were involved in a dispute with a third man, who punched the victim outside an apartment building in the 3200 block of Southwest Avalon Way.

It’s not clear how the punching incident led one man to shoot his friend.  Police arrived around 2:46 a.m. and recovered a handgun, bullet fragments and a spent shell casing from the suspect’s apartment.
