Man suspected of trying to rob brand new Edmonds bank is arrested

A 26-year-old man suspected of robbing a Woodinville bank and attempting to rob an Edmonds KeyBank on Monday — its opening day — was  arrested this afternoon in Everett.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, King County Sheriff’s Office and Edmonds Police Department collaborated on an investigation that led to the man’s arrest on the 2100 block of Wetmore Avenue at around 3:30 p.m.  according to a King County Sheriff’s Office release.

When the man attempted to rob the Edmonds bank in the 9900 block of Edmonds Way Monday afternoon, he told the teller he had a gun but then fled before getting any money, the release said.

Later that afternoon, the suspect successfully robbed a US Bank on the 13200 block of Northeast 175th Street in Woodinville, according to the sheriff’s office.
