WASHOUGAL — A Washougal animal shelter and a neighboring business are in noise battle.
When dogs bark at the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society shelter a horn on the other side of the fence responds with a high-pitched siren.
KGW reports the horn is apparently designed to train dogs not to bark, but the shelter workers say it’s more than they can stand. They’ve filed complaints with the police against the neighbor, Northwest Underwater Construction. The business declined to comment, except to say it’s working with police.
The humane society has operated the shelter in Washougal for 18 years. Northwest Underwater Construction moved in about five months ago and put up the horn in September.
