A vehicle hit and killed a man in his 50s Thursday night in South Seattle, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
The car hit the pedestrian shortly before 8 p.m. near the intersection of Martin Luther King Junior Way South and South Myrtle Street. Medics tried to save the man at the scene, but he didn’t make it, said Seattle Fire spokesman Kyle Moore.
The driver of the car that hit the man stayed at the scene and was extremely distraught from the accident, Moore said.
Traffic delays near the crash scene could last for several more hours as an investigation into the collision continues, according to the Seattle Police Department.
