Pierce County deputy kills armed man near Yelm

A Pierce County sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a man during a traffic stop early this morning east of Yelm.
Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer says the deputy had pulled the man over and was calling in license information when the man came out of his car with a gun saying, “This ends here.”
The deputy fired, killing the man. The 50-year-old driver died. The deputy was not injured.
It happened about 12:30 a.m. on Highway 702 near McKenna
