Police seek suspect in Mount Baker arson

Seattle police are searching for a suspect in an early-morning Mount Baker area apartment fire that may have been set by the ex-boyfriend of an apartment resident.

No one was injured in the fire, which broke out about 4 a.m.  at the apartment in the 1100 block of Yakima Avenue South.

About 90 minutes before the fire, police had been called after a man entered the apartment’s unlocked door, then ran off after he was confronted by the boyfriend of the woman who lives in the apartment.

The woman gave police a description of the man, but he was not found.

Police  were called again after the fire broke out. The blaze was quickly extinguished by the Seattle Fire Department.
