Student from Lynnwood dies after he’s found unconscious in WSU dorm
Washington State University police are waiting for autopsy results this week to determine why an 18-year-old student from Lynnwood died early Saturday after he was found unconscious inside a student dormitory. Foul play is not suspected.
Police identified the victim as Kenneth Hummel, a freshman. Students called 911 about 2:30 a.m. Saturday and reported that Hummel was unconscious at Stephenson Hall. Two students attempted to resuscitate Hummel at the campus residence building, police said.
Hummel was pronounced dead at Pullman Regional Hospital.
