Two soldiers from Joint Base Lewis-McChord killed in Afghanistan

Two soldiers from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, one from Virginia and one from Florida, died in Afghanistan Saturday, according to the Defense Department.

Sgt. Robert J. Billings, 30, of Clarksville, Va., died in Spin Boldak, Afghanistan, from injuries he suffered from an improvised explosive device.  He was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Spc. Brittany B. Gordon, 24, of St. Petersburg, Fla., died in Kandahar, Afghanistan, from wounds she suffered also from an improvised explosive device.  She was assigned to the 572 Military Intelligence Company, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
