UPDATE: Arrest in case of woman who jumped from car, run over near Granite Falls
UPDATE, 10:00 a.m.: | A 53 -year-old Arlington man has been arrested for investigation of hit and run after he apparently ran over a woman who jumped from his car in Granite Falls last night, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s office.
Deputies found the injured woman on the Mountain Loop Highway, near 119th Street Northeast, around 7:45 p.m, said Sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton. The woman suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to the sheriff’s office.
The man driving the car told investigators that he and the woman had been arguing and she jumped from the car while it was moving. The man “accidentally” drove over the woman and did not stop, Ireton said in a news release.
A cell phone found near the injured woman helped investigators identify her and the man, Ireton said.
