Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the stabbing death of a woman who was found in her Auburn apartment this morning, according to Auburn police.
The woman’s body was discovered around 8:30 a.m. by a male friend who was staying with her at her apartment in the 1600 block of 22nd Avenue Northeast, Cmdr. Steve Stocker said in a news statement.
Stocker said a man, who matched the description of a former boyfriend or acquaintance of the victim, was seen running from the apartment, jumping a fence and running east. His description was broadcast and he was spotted nearby less than two hours later, Stocker said.
The man’s identity was confirmed and he was taken into custody, he said. Detectives had not released any more information about the man or a possible motive, he said.
