Young man hit by car in South Seattle this morning

An 18-year-old man was struck by a car and seriously injured in South Seattle this morning and the driver drove off after hitting him

The incident occurred about 7:15 a.m. in the 8000 block of Rainier Avenue South, police said. The man was treated by medics at the scene and then taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore

Police  closed Rainier Avenue South between South Kenyon and South Cloverdale streets, but buses were still being let through, police said.
