Federal Way teacher charged with sexual misconduct involving student
A teacher at Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way has been charged with two counts of first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor for an alleged sexual relationship with one of his students.
Eli Godbolt, 33, was arrested Oct. 1 and released the next day as King County prosecutors reviewed the police case against him. He was officially charged Wednesday and is to be arraigned Nov. 14, when it is expected that he will again be taken into custody, according to the prosecutor’s office.
An English and math teacher, Godbolt professed his love to a 16-year-old girl in May 2011 and they began having unprotected sex that September, according to charging documents. The girl, now 17, ended the relationship in April; she told her mother in September that she had been having sex with Godbolt and her mother called police, charging papers say.
Godbolt, a father of two who is currently going through a divorce, was placed on administrative leave by the Federal Way School District following his arrest, according to charging papers and court documents.
