Friday Memo: Marijuana prices … Everett apartment fire … Sounders win
An ounce of marijuana will cost how much? Now that owning one ounce will be legal, we’ve heard prices ranging from $300 an ounce to a whopping $1,000 for the good stuff. Well, there’s a crowd-sourcing website called “The Price of Weed” and while we aren’t vouching for anything it says, it sure is fun to peruse. It asks readers to weigh in on the street value of an ounce in their area. The average price for an ounce of high-quality bud in our state: $250.52. Medium quality: $204.52. The low stuff: $197.37. (Can they really get it down to the penny?) Someone said you can get an ounce for $50 in Richland. Seriously?
Not everyone can be around when the smart pills are handed out. The missing inmate who managed to escape from the Monroe prison is still on the lam. Mr. Musto, aka, Brandon Merrill, was in the slammer for hitting a motorcyclist and for appropriating a bunch of stuff from a Covington power-equipment company. He was scheduled to get out in February. Let’s see … if and when he’s caught, he faces an escape charge which could keep him in prison for several years. We’re just sayin’…
Teen shoots himself: He isn’t going to die, but the kid showed up with a gunshot wound to his chest at Kittitas High School near Ellensburg yesterday. It was later determined he was having emotional problems. So sad.
Sounders FC: We know some folks find it a wee bit difficult to get your arms around the sport of soccer, but the local boys are headed for the Western Conference finals for the first time. Got scarf?
