Lockdowns at 3 Federal Way schools lifted following search for burglars
Lockdowns at three Federal Way schools have been lifted following the search for two suspects in a pair of residential burglaries this morning.
Federal Way police were alerted around 7:30 a.m. to a burglary in progress in the 32500 block of 41st Avenue Southwest. Before police arrived two males were seen leaving the home in a car.
Following a 911 call from a neighbor, the car was located at a second home were a burglary was taking place, near the 30800 block of 50th Place Southwest. One male was arrested at the scene and the car was determined to have been stolen.
Twin Lakes and Green Gables elementary schools and Decatur High School were placed under lockdown due to the proximity of the police activity, according to the Federal Way School District. The lockdowns have been lifted.
The second suspect has not been found, but police are continuing the search.
