Man shot after fight at Seattle bar, suspect at large

A man was shot in the leg early Sunday after an argument in a Seattle bar, according to Seattle police.

About 3:36 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired near 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street. When police arrived, they found a large group of people standing around in the 100 block of South Main Street, but no one seemed to know what had happened.

About 15 minutes later, a 19-year-old man was dropped off by friends at Harborview Medical Center’s emergency room with a gunshot wound to his right thigh. The injury is not life threatening, police said.

According to police, the victim said he was shot near 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street after an argument inside a bar spilled onto the street. The 19-year-old said he didn’t know the person who shot him, but described his assailant as an East African man in his early 20s, about 5 feet, 7 inches and weighing about 150 pounds.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 911 or Seattle police.
