Two men who identified themselves as police officers robbed a Marysville couple in their home Sunday and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and two handguns, Marysville police said.
The robbery took place before 8 a.m. at a Marysville home in the 3800 block of 118th Place Northeast. The couple said the two men who identified themselves as officers, and who were wearing clothing and equipment that resembled police equipment, knocked on the door.
The couple was restrained during the robbery, and the robbers used a stun gun on one of the victims, although neither victim required medical attention.
Police said they believe the residence was targeted, and the crime was not random in nature.
“We are very concerned criminals are impersonating police officers in order to gain access to their victims and commit crimes,” said Commander Robb Lamoureux in a statement.
One suspect is described as a white man in his late 20’s, 5′ 10″ with a thin to medium build and short dark hair. The second suspect is also white, in his early to mid 30’s, 5′ 9″ and with a stocky build and short reddish or strawberry blond hair. Both were clean shaven.
Police are asking anyone who has information about the crime to contact Detective Shackleton at 360-363-8300.
