Man stabbed in Marysville; neighbors hold relative until police arrive

From Staff Reporter Sara Jean Green

A 26-year-old Marysville man showed up on a neighbor’s doorstep early Sunday, his face covered in blood, while at the house next door, partygoers called 911 to say a 30-year-old man, armed with two knives, was being held on the ground after scaling a fence into the backyard, according to Marysville police.

Around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, residents of a house in the 5000 block of 139th Place Northeast called 911 and said a man whose face was covered in blood was on their front porch, Marysville police Commander Robb Lamoureux said in a news release.

About the same time, someone at the house next door called 911 and reported that partygoers there had detained a man carrying two knives who had jumped over their fence during a backyard gathering.

Officers arrived and determined that the younger man had been stabbed several times at a house across the street from where the alleged victim and suspect ended up, according to Lamoureux. Though it’s not clear what led to the stabbing, he said the two men are related and the stabbing is not considered random.

The 30-year-old man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on investigation of first-degree assault domestic violence, Lamoureux said in the release. The 26-year-old was taken to a hospital in Everett with stab wounds, which were not considered life threatening, he said.
