A man with a gunshot wound to his chest found near Third Avenue and James Street was in stable condition this afternoon at Harborview Medical Center, Seattle police said.
Seattle Police Detective Renee Witt said the incident happened at approximately 4:30 a.m. The victim, whose name has not been released, told police he didn’t know who shot him or why he was shot.
At Harborview, police said, the victim’s family appeared and caused a large disturbance, requiring a call for backup officers.
The suspect is still at large, but the incident did not appear to be a random act, police said.
