Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Lake City

UPDATE: 8:35 a.m. | A 55-year-old pedestrian was fatally injured about 7 p.m. Wednesday when he was hit by a car in Lake City.

Police said the man was crossing Lake City Way Northeast in the 11000 block when he was hit by a northbound compact car.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he died shortly after arriving.

The 23-year-old driver of the car, alone at the time, was evaluated at the scene by a police Drug Recognition Expert, and showed no sign of impairment, police said.
