Seattle women are healthy, but there’s that binge drinking thing

So says Self magazine in its, you guessed it, another list of the top 100 of this, that and the other.

This time its a list of the top 100 Healthiest Cities for Women.

The nuts and bolts: Seattle came in at 14. Portland – 29. Tacoma – 67.  (San Jose, Calif., tops the list)

Here’s what the article has to say about Seattle:

Women in the Emerald City get props for their low rate of current smokers, well below the average of cities we measured. Rates of high blood pressure are also lower than average as is the rate of medical treatment passed on due to cost. But the binge drinking rate is slightly higher than average.

Binge drinking. Seriously? Binge drinking? In Seattle? Go figure.

Here’s how the magazine got its numbers.
