Services set for former Seattle schools superintendent Maria Goodloe-Johnson
A public memorial event for former Seattle Public Schools Superintendent Maria Goodloe-Johnson will be this Friday in Charleston, South Carolina. Services are to start at 6:30 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 7396 Rivers Ave. N.
Friends and former colleagues who can’t make the journey to the East Coast can send fond memories and photos of Goodloe-Johnson to her family at publicaffairs@seattleschools.org. Seattle Public Schools is compiling submissions until Dec. 28, then sending the memory book to her family.
Goodloe-Johnson, who was superintendent during the 2007-2010 school years, died Dec. 5 after a battle with cancer.
