Tire slasher suspect arrested; bag of feces in his backpack

A man suspected of slashing the tires on a car in the University District Sunday was arrested after a witness was able to identify him to police.

Police got a report soon after midnight Sunday that a man had slashed the parked car’s tires at Northeast 47th Street and Roosevelt Way Northeast and then took off.

The man was tracked to a parking lot at 8th Avenue Northeast at Northeast 45th Street where the witness said he was the suspected slasher.

When police got him to the North Precinct, they went through his backpack and that’s where they found a plastic bag filled with feces. Police treated the backpack as a biohazard and got rid of it.

The man was put in jail.
