Seattle police arrested two men at a downtown hotel on Monday after one of the men apparently posted a fake sex ad on Craigslist and robbed the person who responded to the ad.
Police said that when a 19-year-old man responded to the ad at 1 p.m, he was ordered by a 28-year-old man to get on the hotel room floor, where the younger man was handcuffed and relieved of his $191 sunglasses. Police were called and they spoke with the 28-year-old suspect and learned that he had posted a fake ad offering sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Police said there was no 14-year-old girl.
Both men were arrested at the hotel in the 2200 block of Fifth Avenue. The older man was arrested for investigation of extortion and unlawful imprisonment. It’s unclear what the younger man was booked on.
