Wednesday Memo: Semi-automatic weapons … A puddle … 12-12-12 …

Oregon mall shooting: Frightening and tragic, horrors such as this usually bring out people who want to rage for or against the availability of certain weapons in this country. As of 6:30 a.m. today, there were surprisingly no comments on the story…

The weather forecast: Yep, you got it, rain or showers for days on end. Wet coming in to work this morning was it? In the dark, some of us just didn’t see that big puddle…

The man who died in the fire in Seattle’s Crown Hill neighborhood last night was said to be in his 30s or 40s and was a veteran. To survive a war and die in an apartment fire is so tragic.

Heart gets its due: Seattle’s own Heart finally was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Nice.

The man shot dead by a King County sheriff’s deputy in Fall City Monday has been identified as Eric Todd Berg, 42, says the King County medical examiner.

12-12-12: That’s today’s date, of course. Not impressed? Well, there won’t be a 13-13-13, so there. See Jack Broom’s story on 12-12-12.
