Man reports being stabbed in West Seattle

Police responded to a reported stabbing this morning in West Seattle but at first could not find the victim.

Someone called 911 shortly before 2 a.m. and said he had been stabbed near Delridge Way SW and SW Kenyon Street, police said. When officers responded to the scene, there was no one there. The victim called again and said he was at 22nd Avenue SW and Delridge Way SW, almost one mile north of the original site.

Officers said they found a man with a non-life-threatening injury to his lower back, and transported him to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. The man had waited about 15 minutes after being injured to call police, they said.

Police said they could not find a crime scene at the original site, which is where the victim claimed the stabbing occurred. Police also said the victim wouldn’t provide information about who may have stabbed him.
