Man’s body found in White River near Auburn

UPDATE 8:00 P.M.| Valley Regional Fire Authority has recovered the body of a man believed to be in his late 40s, according to Cmdr. Mike Hirman of the Auburn Police Department. Detectives are looking into whether the man fits the description of anyone recently reported missing.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will arrive later tonight to help identify the body.

EARLIER POST 

A body was discovered in the White River near Auburn’s  Game Farm Park this afternoon around 4:20 p.m.

Valley Regional Fire Authority units are working to recover the man’s body now. The Auburn Police Department is investigating who the man might be and how he died. VRFA said it could not determine the  approximate age of the man.

We’ll update this post as more information becomes available.
